BOYS FEEDER
About
Wheaton Park District participates in the DYTBL (DuPage Youth Travel Basketball League), a competitive feeder/park district affiliate basketball league. This program emphasize a higher level of competitiveness. Because this is a competitive basketball program, playing time is not guaranteed. Player progress during the season is strongly affected by player attendance, therefore, all practices and games have mandatory attendance. This program is designed to help progress athletes as players and individuals. The goal of this program is development athlete’s skills, fundamentals as well as promote safety, fun, sportsmanship and honest competition.
Practices/Games
Teams will have two 1 hour and 30 minute practices per week. Depending on the age level, teams will play between 26-35 games during a season. Teams participating in the DYTBL will play home and away games. All teams will compete in at least two tournaments and will play in the end of the season tournament for the DYTBL division they were placed in. Games and tournaments are usually on Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s. Some teams will have the occasional game during the week.
Programs
VIPERS (Grades: 3-5)
This program is offered to players in 3-5 graders who are interested in playing basketball at a competitive level. The season begins in October and runs until the beginning of March. This is a traveling program and playing time is not guaranteed. When registering for the tryouts, you are acknowledging that you read and fully understand the program requirements.
WN & WWS FEEDER (Grades: 6-8)
Teams are formed at the 6, 7 and 8 grade level based off of the high school your child will be attending, either Wheaton North or Wheaton Warrenville South. Participants living north of Roosevelt Road make up the north teams, and participants living south of Roosevelt Road comprise the south teams. If you are not going to be attending either of the high schools, you unfortunately do not qualify for the feeder basketball program. The season begins in October and runs until the beginning of March. This is a traveling program and playing time is not guaranteed.
